We call ourselves the Book Club but we are officially Common Ladies as for our library card we need a name to distinguish ourselves from the hundreds of other book clubs in Surrey. The meetings are held in a different member's home each month and the date is set by the host and the person leading the discussion that month. We read a diverse selection of books as our membership has a wide age and interest range. Recent reads have included classic novels, a thriller, a biography, poetry, a children's book and contemporary fiction.
We find ourselves reading books we would never have thought of otherwise and always have a lively discussion. The meetings are sociable occasions, often including cake, and attended by an average of 10 out of our 15 members. We are a friendly bunch and new members are always welcome.
