Spinnaker sails on

Christ Church has supported Spinnaker with its valuable schools’ Christian education programme for a number of years. You may have read in recent PCC minutes that the Missions budget and the number of Missions financed cannot be supported as in previous years, due to the church’s parlous financial position. Sadly, Spinnaker may not receive a donation from us this year, BUT it is still very important to pray for the Spinnaker team and its volunteers.

As in many aspects of life, the Covid pandemic brought sadness and disruption but also the opportunity for change and seeds of growth.

The Epsom & Ewell Hub has seen loss of members, but also new volunteers have joined. Some schools no longer want us to visit to lead assemblies or run RE Days and lunch clubs but some new schools have come forward to ask for them. The Hub team no longer has the numbers or the resources to run an Easter Experience Road Show at local churches but a scaled-down version still takes the Easter message direct to many children in their schools.

Supporting Spinnaker with our prayers, if not financially, is vital so that as many junior school children can learn about Jesus as possible. Sometimes this is the only source of Christian learning that the children receive.
