Talking Jesus Course

Throughout Lent 2023 we are going to be following a whole church discipleship course, ‘Talking Jesus’ . This comes from one of the PCC priorities for evangelism and growing our church, and we believe this could be one of the most important things we do this year. It builds on the success of Alpha, and is intended to help all of us grow in confidence about sharing our faith.

The course is based on the ground-breaking 'Talking Jesus' report borne out of a partnership between Alpha, the Evangelical Alliance, HOPE Together, Luis Palau Association and Kingsgate Community Church, shows the state of faith in the UK, how people come to faith in Jesus and how we, as the church, can talk about Jesus more effectively with our friends and in our community.

Conversations with Christians are one of the most important influences in bringing people to faith. This course will inspire you to share your faith and will give you practical suggestions to help you to be natural and relevant as you talk about Jesus with the people you meet.

There are six encouraging, video-based sessions with short films, inspirational, short testimonies, real-life examples from people who are talking Jesus. We will be watching a different short film every week and reflecting on the key scriptures within our Sunday morning worship and then following this up on a Tuesday evening when all the home groups and all the congregation are invited to come together for further teaching and discussion. We will be applying this to our situation here in Epsom and praying together asking God to help us make Jesus known and see new people come to faith in 2023. The goal is to equip us to make the most of every opportunity to help friends, colleagues and family members to consider Jesus for themselves and to become his followers.

The course begins on Sunday, 26 February for 6 weeks.
