Legacies

From time to time, we are blessed with generous legacies which make a huge difference to our ability to make our church fit for the future, modernising and improving facilities for the congregation and wider community, and carrying out essential maintenance on our beautiful Victorian listing building.

The costs of major repairs and capital projects simply can’t be met through day-to-day income, so we have to fall back on our reserves, which are mainly built up through legacy income. This source of funding has also proved vital in keeping the church solvent in times of difficulty.

A gift to the Church is normally deducted from the value of an estate when inheritance tax is calculated, reducing the amount of inheritance tax payable.

Legacies enable the church to move forward and help to safeguard its future – which is why we ask you to consider remembering Christ Church in your will. We would greatly value any amount, large or small.

It is always important to take independent advice over such matters, including discussing with loved ones.
