Funerals
A funeral marks the close of a human life on earth. It enables family and friends to mourn, to give thanks for the life of their loved one, to commend them into God’s keeping and to find comfort.
The service can take place here at Christ Church, or at a local crematorium or cemetery. We aim to support you as well as organising the funeral sensitively and efficiently.
Your funeral director will help you make contact with the church, but you are very welcome to contact us directly to ask any questions or if you would like some support. In the first instance, please contact the parish office and our team will put you in touch with a member of the clergy.
You may also find The Church of England’s advice on arranging a funeral helpful.
Annual Memorial Service
We hold an annual Memorial Service in early December each year, in association with Longhurst of Epsom Funeral Directors.
This is a quiet service for anyone who wants space and time to reflect, and for anyone who may find the festive season difficult following the loss of a loved one, whether recently or longer ago. It is an opportunity to remember those who have died, to give thanks for their life and to pray for God’s strength and blessing for our lives now.
